Privacy policy
Last updated October 6, 2026
This policy explains what personal information RestoRepo collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers this website and the RestoRepo service our customers use to run their restaurant checklists.
Who we are
RestoRepo provides checklist, reporting and alert software for restaurants. We are based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean RestoRepo, and "customer" means the business that signs up for the service.
When a restaurant uses RestoRepo, that restaurant decides what its staff record and who can see it. For that information we act on the customer's behalf, and the customer is responsible for telling its staff how their information is used.
Information we collect
When you contact us or book a demo: your name, restaurant name, email address, phone number if you give it, and anything you write in your message.
When your business uses RestoRepo:
- Account details for each user, such as name, email address, role, the locations they work at, and a mobile number if your business turns on text, WhatsApp or call alerts.
- Checklist content your team enters: answers, notes, temperatures, sales figures and photos, along with who entered them and when.
- Records of alerts and notifications we send for your business.
- Basic technical information needed to run and protect the service, such as sign-in times, IP address and browser type.
When you visit this website: standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type and time of visit). This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Some photos on this website are loaded from Unsplash, which receives your IP address when it sends the image.
How we use it
- To provide the service: showing checklists, saving reports, creating PDFs and sending the alerts your business has set up.
- To reply to your questions and demo requests.
- To keep the service secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
- To send important notices about your account or changes to the service.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your restaurant's checklist content for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run RestoRepo, such as hosting, file storage, email and text-message delivery. They may use it only to provide their service to us and must protect it.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of any person, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.
Where it is stored
Our service providers may store or process information in Canada, the United States or other countries. When information is outside Canada it may be subject to the laws of that country, including access by its authorities.
How long we keep it
We keep customer information for as long as the customer's account is active, and as needed to meet legal, tax or record-keeping requirements. Customers can ask us to delete old reports and photos, or their whole account. Demo requests that don't become customers are deleted after 24 months.
How we protect it
Access to the service requires a personal account, and each user sees only the locations and tools their role allows. Passwords are never stored in readable form. We use encrypted connections between your device and the service, and limit who on our team can access customer data. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will tell the affected customer as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent where we rely on it. If you are a staff member at a restaurant that uses RestoRepo, contact your employer first, since they control their account; we will help them respond.
To make a request, email support@restorepo.com. We may need to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies
This website uses a single session cookie so the contact form works. The RestoRepo service uses cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use cookies for advertising.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell customers by email or in the service before the changes take effect.
